Size wise around 53 - 56

What's wrong with the Allez? You know they have a lifetime warranty on frames/framesets?

It's not overly an issue with the frame, it's more to do with complete lack of maintenance taking its toll. Really haven't looked after properly as it's always been a bit too small, and I just think it's time to get a bike that fits me properly, that I'll look after.

Yeah 53-56 is a wide range. Find your size and don't be tempted by anything else.

Allez is still great. I'd just get yourself another one of those, keep an eye out for 2016 model year stuff going reduced as the 2017 ones come out.
Not looking for anything special here, just after after a geared aluminium bike to replace my Specialized Allez after it finally bit the dust. After a full bike that is in rideable condition, as I want to get back to cycling my commute asap. I have a budget of up to £300, but would prefer to do it a little cheaper than that if possible.
Cheers
