Any advice on toiletries? After reading about the Ecover stuff, I realise I should probably consider my whole bathroom too.

Assuming you're in the UK this won't help you, but for people in Germany and Austria there's a company called Lenz - think I've mentioned them before.
It's all organic and vegan, and good value for money imo..

You could get the Little Book of Cruelty-free, published by Cruelty-free International (formerly the BUAV, another bland charity re-branding):

Lush for toiletries, all vegetarian and many vegan options. Very anti-animal testing and good ethics generally.
BioD or Ecoleaf from Suma coop for washing up/laundry liquid and others.
