I was reading into it on TTforum and I am not so sure.
TT forum love a good talk over turbo trainers. -

Yeah good idea with the interlocking tiles, will try some of those. See how it goes.

The noise from the lemond is different though - mostly fan noise rather than vibration, so actually if you can shut doors/windows etc then most of the noise transmission is dealt with.

Oof! £1000 for a fucking turbo trainer? What do they say about a fool and his money?
-
• #1181
Ha, I took great pleasure in pulling the mudguard off the Kinesis the other day.
-
• #1182
You've got one right. So presume that's true.
Ok, I'll keep lemond and wait for complaints. -
• #1183
yeah - if you can hear next door hoovering its likely to be about the same volume as that.
-
• #1184
I guess not, purpose built flats with brick walls. Only transmission would be through floor to downstairs. I'd hope that insulated.
Thanks! -

I'm using a Wahoo Kickr Snap at the moment and it's relatively quiet. The gym floor tile things are good at killing vibration too.

• #1186
anyone got a link where I could buy those tile things?
-
• #1187
Thanks.
Some shop really needs to set up turbo trainer demos. I would not spend silly money on one without being able to try it, or at least return it. -
• #1188
amazon or ebay, just search for gym tiles
-
• #1189
Yeah, they're big and heavy too so you really don't want to be posting one back.

Shit expression. Not my words.
The example I read was lifting a table. You lift it from below. So sweet spot, i.e. Below FTP, is a better way of lifting FTP. But I tend to lift chairs from above. So YMMV.
Bullshit aside.
It works well without so much fatigue. Plus I run a lot over winter. So it's nice not to load the legs.

great, ta.

haven't seen anything on TTF yet about the flux, Steve Irwin seems to have found some way of making the Neo at least as good/better than the Lemond, but seems to require constant connection with a tablet, once not in the right mode its seemingly no better than a kickr or a turbo muin...

Have you met your new neighbours? They might be arseholes, in which case the lemond will be perfect.
-
• #1195
Good point. I'm sure between the lemond and my motorbike I'll be the arsehole!

How do people get their laptop or tablet near their bars when on the turbo? I used to have my stuff set up in the front of the telly but have recently moved and so need to use computers for visual stimulus.
Am toying with doing a bit of a DC Rainmaker DIY job (below) as the Tacx tablet mounts look shite or overpriced

I don't. Computers + Sweat = Zap
Use a mouse with long cord or wireless and mouse mat. Keyboard goes on bed next to bike but isn't strictly necessary.

Fan in the face. BRUTAL
If the fan is the brutal part of your workout, you're definitely doing something wrong ;-)
