Light, wide, cheap, service-ableIf you are sceptical about china carbon (you shouldn't be) I'd get a secondhand 3T or something and acetone/nail polish remover the graphics off.

Again acetone will get graphics off in few minsHandlebars: A very personal thing like saddles, depending on what you prefer but if you want to start short reach and shallow drop a good starting point is Deda RHM02 or 01. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/deda-rhm01-black-road-handlebar/
If you want to go loud i.e. not have plain black finishing kit I'd go Ritchey for matchy matchy. I am a fan of their classic range if silver works for you. The bars have same shape as their Neo Classics.
Pedals: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-essential-keo-compatible-road-pedals/ Lighter than Speedplay set up.
Do not try to save money on tyres. Get something decent like Vittoria Corsa G+ with a latex inner or butyl if you cant be arsed to pump them up before every ride.
First bike build. A Ritchey Road Logic. Going with a Shimano 105. I know I could spend ££££ if I wanted to (but I can't). I'd like to keep things reasonable but also have solid components that keep the weight down. Don't mind going with used components if anyone has any.
