I'm toying with the idea of making my own website to sell certain items, I hate trawling through crap, and if you get the SEO stuff right you could be on to a winner without any of the ebay hassles/restrictions... could be worth a try?
Any other track bits going?
I'm working through the parts. There was a lot of rubbish for the tip, but a few gems as well which I will photograph and list.

Hi All,
I'm new here, and excited to see this bike. In trying to date a Cinelli Pista frame, and by searching the web I have come across this thread.
I have a 1960's Cinelli Pista with serial number 6129. I've wiped off the dust, and it is in very good condition looking very similar in design/ colour/ decals to the above bike. It belonged to my Father in Law, who has recently passed away leaving a veritable treasure trove of cycling history in his workshop.
We have restored a couple of bikes (Colnago's) already, but specifically with the Cinelli, and an Austro-Daimler Super Leight I think they would be of real interest to a genuine collector.
I'm keen on cycling, but a bit of a novice when it comes to vintage bikes! Can anyone help me with an approximate value, or where the best place to advertise them would be please?
Many thanks
kiwifraser

find a serial number on the BB shell and google for the Cinelli serial number DB. you should be able to date it this way.

It is number 6129. I have found a 59xx which is 1960, and a 70xx which is 1964. That leads me to think it's 1961'ish

@kiwifraser. I would like to buy the Cinelli.
You can contact me through PM.
You can try retrobike.co.uk for the Austro-Daimler and other vintage parts. It's more of a collectors and restorers forum.
Nothing against the good folks of Lfgss of course.

Edited: Frame not for sale on this forum now, in order to abide by LFGSS rules as it is listed on a Retrobike thread. Apologies for missing that rule!

I'll send you a PM. There have been a couple of offers for it, but 'forum etiquite' means it's only fair to let everyone have a shot :)
Thanks for your PM.
Forum etiquette also means that you don't use the forum to hold a "sealed bids only" auction ;-), which is something I'm not prepared to participate in. If you want to discuss a price then I'm happy to do that but I'm not bidding for it. That's for Ebay.

still for sale the yellow frame?

I haven't advertised it yet, but it will be. I don't have a clue what it is worth, but at the risk of upsetting the mods by asking for information/ value, I think it will be off to ebay.

you can get good money if you try Asia with this one, maybe even a grand.
international ebay is a good bet.
