Interesting. I wonder what the optimal conditions are? E.g why it's decided to throw out the stem of the glass? Does it automatically apply it or is it like Instagram where you have a dragable focus plane?
-
• #9678
It's automatic as far as I can tell. Doesn't appear to be any way to edit it at the moment.
It is still in beta though...

I thought iCloud was meant to be safe? How is it that it keeps getting hacked?
Is it not really hacking but phishing emails? -
• #9680
can you shoot a portrait as a sample pls?

Last time (and very likely the same this time) it was because of compromised passwords, usernames and security questions.

Aaah, that feeling when your new Saturday job gets you academic discount at Apple. Just in time for the new MBPs.

Would be nice to get some clarity really.
Does make me concerned about using the service. -

There's nothing in place to stop spoofing of the @icloud.com domain - so anyone with a modicum of knowledge can send you an email alerting you to suspicious activity on your account and providing a link to reset your password. Apple need to pull their finger out and lockdown the domain.

Currently there is no problem. As long as you use strong passwords and keep them safe, and follow simple internet rules such as not blindly clicking on links asking you to reset passwords, you're ok. iCloud so far has not been hacked. People have been 'hacked' into revealing login information in one way or another.

Relying on layer 8 for security is not a fantastic idea...

Low light performance on the iphone 7 is ridiculous....
Taken at Monterey aquarium in a near pitch black room. The lighting obviously helped but the colour is spot on too.

^ This is amazing, is it just a pic straight off the phone? Like no app or filter or anything?

First class Tim, really great shot.

So I called into the Appke store on the way to dinner last night and looking at the iMacs has maybe tempted me away from buying a mbp.
If I went for the mid range 27" one would my money be better spent upgrading to the i7 or on more memory?
Guess the memory can be done later (and probably cheaper) but the processor has to be chosen at purchase?

I would not be buying any Mac this time of year... the entire range is up for refresh.
They have just moved their financial earnings call to avoid a scheduling conflict (from the 15th). The new Regent street store opens on the 15th. Rumours suggest new products this month. If they open the new store with 3 year old Machines then they have lost their minds.
i7 vs Ram wise, you can still upgrade the ram yourself on the 27's so defo don't buy that from Apple. -

That's cool, I've still got some of the honeymoon to clear off the credit card before I can buy anyway.
Guy in the store in Glasgow wouldn't say owt about updates/new products.
-
• #9695
Aye, they won't know really, but yeah, hold them horses and hopefully Apple will remember it makes computers and not just jewellery.

This link may be useful for explaining i5 vs i7 etc. http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/bĀest-intel-processor-core-i3-i5-i7
i7 only really worth it if you are using software which specifically takes advantage of multiple cores.
As said already, add extra RAM yourself to save money too.

Just updated to whatever the new IOS is called. I now have Siri on my laptop.

try asking her to sing and tell you a bedtime story... My favourite is that cyborg chicken one...

• #9699
it suggested asking where my sister is, but couldn't locate her.

To ask your sis to tell you a bedtime story instead? Well if that's the case, Siri's got smarter. :-P
Downloaded the beta yesterday...
The depth effect is okay. Excuse the shit subject but a test over drinks earlier:
