What's that smell?

Anyone else notice a strange pong in the air today? It was strong in East but I can still smell it in SW.

Is it the Dutch tulip fields?

Elitism?

Could be a brain tumour, go get a scan

It does smell a bit like fertiliser. Or I'm just having a stroke.

possibly the greenway / bazalgette sewer
victoria park / bow / plaistow / beckton
rode along there yesterday and by the southern end i was beginning to wretch
each manhole cover / ventilation point was belching noxious fumes
just thinking about it is making me a bit green

or possibly elitism
but i'm sticking with the sewer

I've been noticing a smell for a few weeks now. I thought it was the heat, like how Spain and Greece generally stink.

New York has a very specific sickly sweet smell like rotting fruit in the summer.

I smelt it last night in Ascot and am getting whiffs in my garden in Bracknell. I blamed it on the wife but she's under the patio so continental Europe I reckon.

So I've done a bit of searching on the internet and narrowed it down to:
1-people not washing or changing their clothes
2-low tide in the river leaving waste on the shoreline
3-people shitting in the streets
4-tanneries
5-not having your cess pit emptied often enough

Not sure how up to date the article was but these are the main causes.

Obviously the decomposing remains of the former Mrs ex-Constable Savage cannot be discounted from consideration.

She's only been there a day or two so probably not her. Forget I even mentioned it.
