I did briefly look at that as you can pick them up for the price of an average PC case (for building a PC rather than hackintosh).

Nothing is standard though so you have to make up your own mounting points for motherboard, PSU, back plate, etc which looked a hassle.

My iPhone 6 has officially given up the ghost after being dropped multiple times, most catastrophically whilst riding. Had the screen replaced a few months ago (not by apple), now far left side of the screen doesnt respond to touch, so using the keyboard is problematic.

Reserved a 7 this morning to pick up after work, although now I'm thinking I should get an SE instead, as I'm not really overwhelmed with what i've seen from the 7, and I sort of like the idea of going back to something a bit smaller.

Will probably get the 7 on the upgrade programme thing, but dont think the you can do that with the SE?

Whats the forum Mac gurus opinions on the SE?

Great size. I've got a 6s and i'm very tempted to 'downgrade'. The only thing stopping me is that I find reading long form much easier on the 6s compared to my old 4s

Hard drives start getting seriously slow after about 5 years of regular use.

Get a new hard drive.

You can replace hard drives on 2011 macbooks, right?

I cant decide. I haven't actually held an SE size phone in a while, so guess i need to see one in the flesh and make my mind up this evening.

I prefer the design tbh, reminds of old Sony Walkmans. Might see if I can trade in my 6s for one next week as I need to fix my camera anyway

Yep, I can add a SSD anyone got a link to a SSD HD and is it straightforward, will I need to buy a mini screwdriver set.

Crucial SSDs were cheapest when I did mine a while back, and yeah pretty sure I bought a cheap set of tools on eBay for this purpose

Not all SSDs are equal. Assuming it's Sata 3 then it's worth looking at the details of the cheaper drives, some are pretty slow.

I think iPhones from the 5S onwards are all perfectly fine, it just depends what feature set and screen size you want

I was in a similar dilemma going from 4s to 6 and like my 6 a lot, but that's mostly because it's 128gb, if you can handle the drop down in size and it is noticeable (I still use a 5c work phone) and you can get it with enough memory, then I'd go 5se..

If it's any help, I picked up a 7+ last week and it's fucking massive. Holding my old 6 is like using a toy phone.

Twin camera thoughts? The only thing that's making me consider not sticking with the 6 for now. But that size though :/

Definitely too big for cycling. 6 / 6s / 7 fit in a Rapha Essentials case, the Plus versions don't :-)

The low light performance is really great but I haven't used the zoom function really. I guess I'll know if the second camera is worth it when they release the "portrait" function...

For me, I like the size.. Typing is much nicer and the Web experience is a huge improvement. It is pretty massive though which is why I'm keeping my 6 as a back up for the odd night out when I don't want to carry a tablet with me!

All handheld. The first two were also taken through our hotel window.

Deffo not intersted in the Plus. They are verging on rediculous. I think the normal size 6/7 is alsready a bit too big.

In an ideal world they'd make an SE size phone with a slightly bigger screen that utilizes the available space better like the 6/7. The border around the screen on the SE is a bit shit.

The optical zoom doesn't work in low light though, does it? The standard 7 has improved low light performance over previous generations.

Though the middle of the three pics was using zoom (in low light). I assume it used digital zoom but the quality is impressive regardless.

Awesome, battery life is great (better than the 6s), very powerful, and very easy to take photos while riding/hiking.

The latter is my main reason as I do take a lots of photos while riding.

Got a 7 in the end. Would have like to get the SE, but you cant do it on the Uprgrade Programme, and I know i'm going to want the next gen phone when it comes out, so thought the upgrade prgramme was the best option.

It's nice. The screen is very good. The captouch stuff and finger print recognition is next level. Will actually start using it now. It always took a few trys to work on my 6, so never really bothered.

Am tempted to buy a second hand 32GB SE to use whilst riding, as I also like to take photos!
