  • ^love that disco volante

  • If think that the green and gold hard top with the red infilled grill looks amazing. To me, it looks like the car is about to roar off in to the sunset with heat haze and dust.

While the convertible, which there will be 7, is just beautiful from behind. But still not as beautiful as the original disco volante convertable. It was at the science museum a few years ago and it looked so amazingly space aged.

  • CTS no less.

  • All Up In Yo Grillz.

  • you can jump the spade connectors on the switch (ie disconnect and wore straight through) on the b, but I would check with someone that knows vws first

  • Nice one. I've dropped the coolant, flushed the system and replaced it. TBH I think the temperature is just a little eratic, not something I really need to worry about. New old car nerves innit.

  • 61,000 miles, sounds great, drives nicely (round Regents park at lunch).

    Service history is, erm, interesting:

    2000, 13,492 miles Dick Lovett
    2001, 17725 miles AFN Porsche
    2002, 24,552 miles Dick Lovett
    2003, 34,972 miles Porsche Swindon
    Six year gap
    2009, 40,286, Martin Brown Porsche
    2011, 49,286, Peter Maddocks Porsche
    Four year gap
2015, 57,232 DSD Moterwerks (invoice for over £3,000 spent on this service)
    2016, 59,886, DSD Moterwerks

The owner is a genuinely lovely chap, an enthusiast who also has a Maserati which the Porsche is being sold to fund the refurbishment of.

It's an amber indicator, cable throttle, highly optioned manual - if it was a coupe I'd own it right now.

But it's not, it's the convertible, and my intention is to track the car.

  • Oh, and it's a South African car originally.

  • If you weren't tracking it, I'd say buy the vert. My dad's is fucking lovely.

  • Apple trying to buy Mclaren.

    WTF

    McLerntosh

  • I'm loving these posts from hotdogland. It's like being on holiday.

    Keep em coming

  • Oh yes:

  • Oooooo, shiney. Will it stay looking like that though?

  • Yes, otherwise Jim will hunt me down (apparently).

I'm also planning on dropping it off with him ever few months as he's on the way to my parents (if I take a somewhat winding route).

  • He's pulling all the dents out, repainting areas with deep scratches, re-dying the leather, dying the bumpers, removing all stone chips, detailing the engine.

  • Apple have an unbelievably large pile of cash that they need to do something with. They don't want to cede the tech / auto space to Google / Uber / Tesla. Interestingly I think they're only bandying around a figure of a billion $ for McLaren. That's a lot of tech for the money....

  • Thanks Brexit!

  • That looks like the most yawn inducing Porsche i've ever seen.

  • Pffffft

  • I'll paint it lime green, fill it with scaffolding and chop the windscreen off.

  • That would look even worse, which I didnt think was posssible.
Dont be a pussy, up your budget and get a proper Porsche. you'll be bored of that thing in under a month, will sell it, and end up buying what you should have bought in the first place at a much greater overall cost.

  • I've broken the MX5 again. I think it lasted about 2,500km since I last threw 50% of it's original cost at it.
