Same on my croix de fed. Seems insurmountable at first, then you just forget about it (until someone mentions it) then you forget about it again.

Looks awesome. I just don't get how you can ride casually with SPD-SL. It's a pain to walk on. Do you just not get off the bike? Or take an extra pair of shoes.

Nah, this is what I take out just to ride. Not much stopping/walking anywhere. Though I have gotten pretty good at walking around on them... Mashes up the cleats though, and gets especially tricky when you loose all the grippy rubber bits..

That thing is effing sick, needs a different quil stem though.

TM pls, 11spd and hydro would be fine through winter. Think how many CX bikes are getting properly filthy every week with similar setups.
You just want a new bike...

It came with a very elegant Mavic stem and bullhorns, but it has a crack. Might try and replace it. Initially I wanted a pure mavic setup, but hard to find stuff...

I just wore out an 8 speed chain after ~1200 miles, easy and mostly dry miles.
Phuk dat.
Cross bikes with derailleur gears and hyrdro brakes take maintaining, I would rather deal with the occasional hub dip than regular cleaning/oiling etc
Also mud does not equal salt.
And den, GT won't take guards and decent size tyres, want to keep CDF nice, new bike makes most sense.
Ordered today.

isn't all this what the agros is for?
-
• #110238
Was meant to be but moved to the top of a big hill and got fatter. Also Argos will only take 25s with guards.
Basically I want low maintenance gears, 35c and full guards.

I'm just going from sensible commuter to 11spd hydro brakes commuter.
Bigger tyres though.

I thought hydro was meant to be fit and forget?

Very tidy indeed.
What are the tyres? And are they Ultegra hydros or Ultegra/105 mechanical?
-
• #110243
Compass Bon Jon Pass 35c.
Ultegra (rs685) hydro, natch.
There's a CP thread.

hey jambon ;)
I'm going to start a new project for a friend (steel road frame with 1 1/8 | 1 1/2 fork)
-
• #110245
Would like to find an alternative for this,
As the bridge / bracket is set too wide for the forks. Anyone got any suggestions?

• #110246
I have an 8spd hub on my roadrat. It's great, but you need to keep the shifter accurately adjusted. Once a year I dunk the internals in gear oil and add a bit of extra grease inside. They last fine if you look after them. Chains hardly need replacing. The promax brakes will be poo, replace with hylex.

Custom bridge? Dibs if you're selling...
-
• #110248
Could the fork be drilled? If not, a replacement fork for when you want a brake? Pain in the arse to swap but that's what I have on my track bike for TTs etc

new bearings, headshok serviced so fully turn off and onable now
