I found that when I lived in West London Frontline did fuck all and the only one that worked was Advantage. Vet said the fleas were totally resistant.
Now I'm in SE1 Frontline works again.

We used advantage when we got Buddy, he was crawling with them from his last owners but one dose sorted it out. Just make sure it's applied in a spot he can't lick.

we used these a couple of years ago http://www.petsathome.com/shop/en/pets/4-fleas-cat-tablets , they were ridiculously effective, after about 15 mins the cat starts scratching like crazy and the fleas just start falling off.
You should use a flea bomb (or two, depending on the size) in the house as well or they'll probably just come straight back again.

weird - those tables are totally ineffective for our cats.

The Croydon cat serial killer is believed to have struck in our road last night, sometime in the evening according to my neighbour.

I use advantage flea treatment which works just fine. Buy it from vet-medic.com it's way cheaper than most places. Also if you have a flea problem it's a good idea to treat your home with indorex home spray. Unlike most sprays it kills the fleas at the larvae stage too. Lasts ages too.

Third recommendation for Advantage spot-on - we get it from Amazon which is also pretty cheap.

Just ordered a year's supply from Amazon for both cats for £45.

Not far from us at all (SE23). Balls. She's not going to be happy about that.
-
• #5521
I am also SE23, this is not good news.

Do they know for sure it's some "serial killer" and not just a coincidence? How do they know it's not dogs, because plenty of dogs would do that all day if they could.
Someone found the head of their German Shepherd near their house in the states and it turned out to be wolves... -
• #5523
Not saying we have a wolf problem in London...
-
• #5524
I think they're pretty sure, 'ritual' decapitations with blade, tails cut off, raw chicken found in many stomachs suggesting they're being lured with food... too many cases, too many similarities, to be traffic accidents or predation.
-

Presumably you keep yours in at night? I'm not sure there's much more we can do. The odds are still vastly in favour of traffic accident over falling prey to this cunt but just knowing it's happening is pretty unpleasant...
The only effective treatments are prescription ones from your vet. I wasted a lot of cash on the stuff they sell at pet shops and supermarkets before I learned that.
