• not professionally, mind, but so far i've ridden:

    -moser san cristobal
    -raleigh scirocco
    -mali ironman (hungarian)
    -gürtler (track, bespoke, hungarian)
    -privitera (track, bespoke, argentine)
    -rih super profi (austrian)
    -cannondale caad4
-pesenti fly (i think, no designation on frame)
    -kona paddy wagon
    -cannondale six13

many different bikes designed for different purposes but i loved them all (if they fit/i could dial them in correctly). many of them not high end and still enjoyed all.

if colnagos were cheaper, i'd try them. but i doubt they are that much better as the price tag suggests (comparing them with competing products of their own category of course)

if the op is a pro or a collectionist (neither of which he seems to be but excuse me if i'm wrong) he might notice differences between, say, a colnago pista or a chesini pista (no fancy tubing, just a normal track frame with round tubes). the nago would still cost him more. why? well, history and brand rep. measurable? no.

he should get what he likes. if it's a nago and he can justify it, why not? i just think there are many more options that might leave him with money left to buy a set of atomic22 bolts and in my opinion that's a bit better than an engraved clover..
