  • It's the absense of dicking about when making the coffee in a technivorm which appeals to those who haven't yet lost reasonable perspective regarding process vs result. Just put 60g of coffee in the paper, fill the reservoir and press go. No messing, truly excellent coffee. My wife loves it, she loves good coffee but understandably sees scales and timers as unreasonable so this piece of kit is perfect.

Here's my overly long Bella Barista video of the Technivorm 1 cup vs V60. Not pushing BB, buy it from wherever you like!

  • It's because constantly heating the brewed coffee causes the solid particles in the coffee to carry on brewing causing that heavy, stewy, bitter flavour which gave coffee from drip machines its bad rep. It's OK if you can drink it within a few minutes but it doesn't take long to have a negative effect.

Brewing into the thermal carafe just holds the temperature steady. The flavour does degrade but not nearly as badly as if it's stewed on a hotplate.
