FWIW: My '08 is fine with 25's (sans Mudguards). Admittedly, I haven't attempted a larger tyre but I wouldn't imagine that a set of 28's would work, at least not without running a brakeless set-up.

Has anyone ridden both the older (pre 2012?) and newer shape Langster? The geometries look pretty different, in particular the stack/head tube.

The New York Langster, which was particularly hideous.
The Seattle Langster was a bit ahead of its time with mudguards and swept, flat bars. Even had a coffee cup holder.

done with the re-build. frameset and crankset is stock, the rest is a mixture of used and new parts. pretty happy how it turned out, lightweight and snappy ;-) sorry for the poor pic...
