It's not about trust:
- seller gets knocked down by a bus/abducted by aliens etc on the way to the PO;
- seller's as honest as they come, but you're still out of pocket.
Velocio has written about this: "gift" is for blood relatives and not buying & selling on the internet.
Like gambling, you should only "gift" money you're prepared to lose.
