  • Not sure, the cup is made of plastic, I mangled the aluminium phil wood bb cups in under a year, so doubt a plastic one will last too long.

I'd be happy if it lasts long enough for the replacement to arrive.

Have you considered bicycle maintenance training.

  • his butler needs it

  • Have you considered bicycle maintenance training.

Its probably more down to mashingtheshit out of it.

This is of course a highly technical term.

Clearly my legs can deliver enough unfeasible amount of power to snap a Ti spindle, so mere aluminium is going to struggle. (Or possibly there was a flaw in the material, but shall gloss over that and claim ludicrous amounts of power instead).

  • You alright James? Hoping this didn't happen at high speed

  • Thankfully was trackwobbling at a red light, the light turned green I unleashed the unfeasible picowatts of power and suddenly found myself standing on the ground, nuts having made a glancing (or should that be glansing) blow to the top tube.

Assumed it was the chain that had snapped, but looked down to see a crank arm on the floor. I then assumed the Sugino 75 had broken, but again not.

Was all a bit of a surprise, but luckily not too bad.

Minor ding on crank arm spline as well as a result.

  • Titanium is not a suitable material for sq taper axles.

What next, Ti pedal spindles, magnesium frames?? Polystyrene handlebars...

STEEL! (FFS!) - and ride it like you stole it.

  • Hmmm.. polystyrene bars. How much weight can I shave off?

  • Anyone has a 108/110 JIS British threaded Phil bb knocking around?
