That's awesome. I like the combination of modern front end and disc but also lugs.

You might be onto something. Also notice the bosses for the gear cables on the downtube, near the headtube.

is the front part of the top tube crimped or is it a shadow effect?

I love this 'rear rack in the front' school. It just makes so much sense.

This one looks pretty good, but it would place panniers very high up compared to a proper front rack

This rack did have extra pannier rails slightly lower, mind.
It lets you take full size rear panniers up front.
