• still overpriced, mainly the spec .. BB7!? .. good market gap for Pinnacle.

Kidz cross bikes? They probably sell < 100 a year. Not really a market to battle for I'd have thought.

Crank choice is curious. Other than that, it's a pretty sensible cross rig for small people. Riders aren't going to challenge the brakes but they are going to crash a lot so cheap bomb-proof kit is pretty wise. Isla know their shit.

  • 10 frames from Taiwan cost about £250 MAX each, I am currently in negotiations with MOQ with a vendor, the first prototype is almost there. I am trying to do this in India where trade relations with far east countries arent great so there is a HUGE customs/duty on things. Its much MUCH easier here, Bowman is a prime example.

Isla are good yes but there is a HUGE margin on those.

  • Eh? You setting up a bike company?

  • Isla are good yes but there is a HUGE margin on those.

Yes - niche small volume stuff tends to have large margins - comparatively - so that they can cover their costs and turn a profit. That was kinda my point.

Whether you think the price is OK is irrelevant - it's niche and you don't want one. But those who do aren't buying on price because there's few alternatives. They also don't want headaches from fincky expensive to replace things like HDBs. Kid races it, it gets chucked in the shed, it works next week. Bosh.

It's a bit like buying Rapha, really. You don't want to sound like the moaners who believe that just because can be sold for less, it should. As if somehow the thought that went in to the design is worth nothing.
