  • In the road works, trip tronic is brilliant

  • Wheels look wrong on that one too. IIRC 40th Anni cars had those wheels in chrome. Looked gash but thats what they came with.

  • I need to fit bigger headers and pipe all the way through. Currently running 1.75" headers into a 3" collector into 2" pipe all the way back. Definitely a big restriction on top end. Need 2" headers into 3.5" tube. Going to cost at least $1500 and fitting the headers might be a bit of a cock.

Plus side, much more power, some more noise. Mrs Jung might not be amused...

  • would like to see the custom weld job for that manifold :)

  • forced induction - not sure I'd get that for sub 15k

    two separate demands really

    a) weekend fun car - budget from not a lot [drive it like you stole it/cat d] to silly money [garage queen] depending on what catches the eye

    b) weekday mileage gobbler - already fulfilled by 218CLS350, but the over mileage charge is biting into the lease

  • I have a guilty hankering for a Targa - but I know they are meant to be a wobble-fest, so I'm keeping that under control.

I am discounting any auto's - which makes it annoying when they put it halfway through the advert just when you're starting to think "this one looks nice".

  • I emailed about the service history on that amber-indicator C2 coupe and they have not got back to me, I guess I'll call them later but it's annoying when you have to chase them to get details on what they hope to sell you.

  • like a targa too, just like I wear jeans and sheuxx..

  • Jeans and flip-flops here.

  • Got absolutely soaked at Revival so drank through it and salvaged a decent time, trying not to think of the massive 100% waterproof Helly Hansen work jacket I left at home

  • I miss that car. more pics please.

  • The RAC TT celebration is still an absolute joy though, such anger from those Cobras

  • Still remember those angry ladies in Harlesden when we dropped it off?

I'll make a little video when I get it running again. Leaving stuff sat around for years is a terrible idea, I'm mildly concerned now I might have to replace all the fuel lines too as the frigging ethanol in the petrol eats them.

  • Get modern lines then.

  • Yep, all the racing was great again this year. Any race involving cars with way more power than grip is always going to be entertaining. Watched a fair bit on the live stream. My parents were there for the full weekend with their DS.

  • This seems to be around £4,000 too expensive- thoughts, hive mind?

  • Current owner bought it at 52,000, 64,000 on the clock now, he's changed the oil and the cool packs in 12,000 miles (a couple of years or so). It has got a service history but it's "Bob's garage" rather than "Bob's Porsche specialist". RMS, IMS, clutch and brake lines are all original.

  • Isn't that about as cheap as they come?
Seems like a good price for a clean unmolested example.
The IMS is not going to go. It's done 64k, it'll be fine. And if I'm wrong, at that price you can afford another engine.
Interior colour is nice but being an early car, it has no glovebox. Not keen on the exterior colour.

I've really no idea why you want an old 911 though. They are not all that.

  • "Best 911 in Doncaster"

    loooool

  • Maybe them extra 20k miles make all the difference in Porscheworld?

  • Not with those wheels it's not

  • The £15,800 one is low mileage, but that means it has potential for clutch to go soon, although the guy says it's fine right now, I guess at the same time as the clutch it makes sense to do IMS and RMS, plus maybe brake lines, but I'd prefer to spend less on the car up front.

What would a reasonable offer be, if it drives well?

  • Doncaster car has aftermarket stereo, chav aftermarket pedal covers, horrible plastic airbag cover on 4-spoke wheel, mismatched tyres, wrong wheels, 20k more miles, and it's in Doncaster

The london car, by contrast, looks utterly unfucked-about-with.
