Freecycle: CARLTON FRAME SICK FADEZ NON RIDEABLE

Posted on
  • As the title would suggest, I have this carlton frame 27" i think, cant remember the model. Details i think i can remember it was originally a 2x5 spd originally chrome but that was pitting when i got it. Original headbadge.

Story behind the MENTAL paint job...
My uncle has a car spraying business and my cousin had offered to spray it for me for free so i told him to just surprise me and use leftovers, this is what he came up with.

The frame is very out of line (tried to show this in the pictures).
I had it measured and the rear stays are about an inch out of line so at the moment it is unrideable.
Ive never cold set anything but apparently its past that? Anyway, might be good for someone practising frame building/repairing?

I'll be keeping the seatpost clamp I think.

  • These photos dont do the paint justice (maybe not the right word) the pink is a proper flouro pink and the gold is more champagne.

  • Oh god.... Dibs!

  • How did i not even guess that you would dibs this! Haha

  • May be possible for a framebuilder to reconstruct the rear triangle? If the frame was 531 that might be worth doing.

  • Yeah, not sure its anything as good as 531 but im not gonna be bothering with it as ive bought another steel frame to replace it hopefully @GreatSince78 shall resurect it.

  • If the frame was originally all chrome then it would have left the factory badged as a Cobra ...... made of Tru-Well:)

  • I cant remember, didnt have much info even when I bought it.
