Sheer carnage in the downhill world champs at Val Di Sole. Many crashes, broken bones, riders being knocked unconscious.
Three riders have been stretchered off the track in the men's race so far and there's still more than 50 left to race. -

Nice video on Pink Bike of the trails around Swansea, ridden by Chris Stares and his dog. Rode with this guy earlier today, really nice chap.

Just don't ever throw a stick for trail dogue. It'll never leave you alone after.

That was brutal! When you consider how capable modern DH bikes are, that course must be absolutely terrifying.

"Aggressive geometry", no?

Watched it here. Couldn't really tell you where the crashes were though.

It's about as aggressive a DH track as I've ever seen before.

British Cycling tweeted a link this morning of the full run shot by Rachel Atherton's go pro. Apart from the opening sector and the finishing sector it was pretty much all through the rootiest, gnarliest wooded section I've seen.

Set rebound speed to ridiculous

Normally I look at DH tracks and reckon, "Yeah, I could get down that*... reeeeally slowly...", but Val di Sole just looked utterly brutal.
*Big gap jumps excepted.

When the mega-gaps are the easy bits...
