the paint hardened up a month already as that was how long I had to wait for the forks to be rechromed. ;-) But thanks for the advice. I'm leaving for a 10 day tour tomorrow so I has some more time.

sounds weird but the pinnacle arkose is legit.
You could look at surly straggler or cross check, one one pompino with a carbon fork, genesis day one. -

Id get a steamroller and get some canti mounts brazed on if i were to get a surly!
On one maybe, if everything else fails! Would love a rim braked Nature boy, But no where sells them anymore :(

Thanks, nice bike and cheap. I want steel though!!

• #110033
are you set on rim brakes then? Why, out of interest?

Awaiting canti mounts and cable guides. Fixed fun in the meantime.

I've just always loved a good v brake on a bike, apart from when it's wet! Like the way it looks and the ease of maintenance!
Also, steel is forever. My all city macho man was my first steel cross bike, and it's also the bike I wish I still owned!

Fair enough!
The main problem i found with Vs/cantis off road is how quickly rims/pads wear out. Killed a rim in no time on my cross check last year from winter off-road. I have now drunk the disc brake kool-aid. -

Impressed with how well the Langster is handling dad mode.

Yeah I get you. It's not actually be going to be riding cross all the time, it'll be my commuter, go play in the woods, hit the canal kinda bike. So rim wear shouldn't be too bad.
I'm half tempted to get a steamroller with center pull brakes. Good geo and space for 35s and guards with center pull brakes ;) or just 32 cross tyres.

That's so good!
Long time admirer of that build so I'm glad you're better able to keep hold of Langster Steels than I am.

So I finally got everything working properly with my powermeter etc and took her out for a few rides in Amalfi, Italy. I bought a Garmin 820, to assist with navigation, And found that there is a great mix of longish climbs, technical descents and rolling coastal roads with amazing views.

Looking f-resh. Quite precarious placement but makes for a nice picture :)

Cheers! It's less precarious than it looks and I tested the placement the day before with a less precious bike :)
very pretty Wim. I'd leave it for a month for the paint to harden up
