Decent, fast, tubeless-suitable 26" summer mtb tyre that could pull double duty as a winter road and gravel commuter/tourer?

Kenda Small Block 8?

Maybe. Quite like to try something new though, already have wired 8s on the ssmtb

Maxxis Roamer is a pretty excellent tyres despite it's hefty weight, bit hard pressed to feel the difference between the Roamer and Kojak.

Ha, shows how much attention I pay to other people's bikes :-/
Maxxis Crossmark and Ikon are both fast rolling. I've only used them as rear tyres though.

Maxxis seem to have some good tread patterns in general. Though I need to double check the clearance on the Magura brake boosters...

I think I've got measurements of a few, should you need to know.

Just adding to the gravel king love - I've found them to be excellent, like a harder wearing Open Pave. I reckon in 700x32 they'd be ace. Currently running 28's on my commuter bike, very good. Feel more secure on them (grip wise) compared to schwalbe ones.

What do you expect from a 700c 42mm tyres? that's about right.
e.g. Specialized Sawtooth tyres, same size, 615g.

• #3693
If you want the ulimate, the new Compass Snoqualmie Pass in 700 x 44mm that weight a mere 366g, or the lighter version which is 325g.

Conti Gator Hardshells served me well on London's roads but have had several flats on the gravel path which forms part of my new commute in the cundrysoide. Would love gumwalls if poss but everyone seems to be feeling Panaracer Gravel Kings. So I am stuck between them, Paselas and Clement Strada LLGs - which I note are different TPI depending on colour. 85% of riding on road. Help a bruvva out?
-
• #3696
Paselas are strong long lasting tyres but not quick. Clement Strada are pretty low quality and cutup easily but probably a bit quicker.
-
• #3697
Gravel King in black it is, then, and style be damned!
-
• #3698
I need a pair of deep mud tubeless cyclocross tyres. Any suggestions?
-
• #3699
Clement strada are suitable lighting road tyres, not winter tyres like they claim, definitely not multi surface.
Gravel King are what clement claim the strada is.
Pasela are slow and don't ride particularly nice.

PBK fucked me with the veloflexes and I ended up cancelling the order after a week of them saying they were 'expecting stock', despite the site showing they were in stock. Re-ordered through Ribble and they're taking far longer than usual to pick them which is making me think the same thing is going to happen.
So, in the meantime I thought I'd swap my front and rear to get a bit more life out of my Corsa G+ and in doing so noticed that this has happened to the rear at a few points. Is this a manufacturing fault or to be expected? I used them for one 30 minute ride on rollers (+2000 or so on the road) but that surely couldn't have melted the glue could it?

Cheers! Ken Fosters is really near me.
