Those pads are very good value.
Are they good?
I'm currently using the swissstop organic pads.
What's the best cheaper option cos I don't wanna spend that kind of £££ again.P.S. Feel free to not answer my demands. ;)

Perfect. Thanks Pete.

Try the Kevlar ones? They seem pretty good so far

They get a lot of praise over on the singletrack forum. Their BBs are meant to be good too.
I'm currently using the swissstop organic pads.
What's the best cheaper option cos I don't wanna spend that kind of £££ again. It's worth trying them. If you want decent value branded pads, I've always found EBC work well. https://www.merlincycles.com/brake-pads-1-93729/?brand=ebc

Use shimano pads, if your brakes aren't shimano then get shimano brakes, they come with free pads.

Nice one. Will give those a look at and take a punt on one or the other.

RS805 front brake takes M5 bolts to mount on fork. The bolts it came with arent long enough for the engagement, where can I get a replacement?
That sounds wrong. (and shimano doesnt usually fuck up, so china carbon/user error? :))
The specs say there should be room for 8-10mm thread engagement with the fork:
and 7.5mm engaged thread gives a secure connection (1.5 times the bolt diameter, a rule of thumb from somewhere...)
But the bolts are standard m5x0.8, so you can get some longer ones (with torx...)
How deep is the m5 threading on the fork?
and also pictures!....

Just bought a disc braked frame and taking the plunge.
However, I've a Campagnolo 10 speed groupset I'll be putting on it. I was looking at the Kinesis Racelight DB wheelset at £359.99, but it only comes with a Shimano free hub. The Kinesis Campy freehub is a further £50.
Is this worth it considering the Kinesis wheel set is 1550g, or is there something else I should be looking at which is Campy ready?

Sell campag
Buy shimano -

Great advice. Thank you.
Now back to wheel sets. Anything else I should look at?

Find out how much it is to get a new 11 speed front and rear derailleur and shifters instead.
Then use Shimano 11 speed cassette and KMC chains.
Beside that, fulcrum have disc wheels with Campagnolo freehubs I think, ditto Mavic.

I have a feeling the Shimano hyrdaulics will be cheaper than campy

Moot if the hood is uncomfortable to use.

Currently, I'm looking at the TRP HY-RD callipers, with my current Campy groupset, it appears to get okay reviews.

I had a look at the Fulcrum wheels, but they're either the low end ones, or £800+
Currently, I've found Zipp 30's with Campy free hub for £600 which seems a good middle ground.

whereas Shimano hydraulics tend to get excellent reviews...

Do Shimano make a cable actuated hydraulic disc brake calliper?
-
• #2347
I wouldn't worry too much about weight, it's mainly the tyres and tube that make the biggest difference, the cheap Fulcrum are generally reliable and give you some left over for some nice tyres and tube.
Other option is the Ksyrium Elite Disc if you really want to keep a reasonable weight.

Currently, next best option is the Hunt Aero Light Disc @ £469, and they have an option for Campy!

Chyna error for sure, they are sending me a new fork but in the meantime I was wondering if I can get away with a longer bolt .. currently using a stainless bolt that came with SKS mudguards with a washer lol .. nice and snug at 4nm.
If Superstar are out of stock of your preferred sintered pads, is there an alternative or am I going to have to suck it up and buy higher priced ones?
