  • @rogan
Pros - no queues, good snow, good food, reasonable prices.

Cons - compared to the alps/ north america the terrain is really limited both in terms of area and features (wide flat groomers everywhere and not much else), lifts weren't the best (mainly t-bars and double chairlifts).

We went mainly for the northern lights, reindeer, dogs sleds, snowy lifestyle etc and that was excellent. The skiing was a good addition to the trip but one full day was plenty.

I think the resort was called Narvik but can't be sure.

  • This is kind of what I'm going for actually.

Trying to tie in skiing to northern lights on a budget, GF never ski'd before and only planning 3 days of skiing so even if I get a little bit bored its not a huge amount of skiing...

    Thanks a lot!

  • Well I live here and ski loads over Winter.

I'm on the west coast. Where the gulf stream bring mild weather over Winter. So while we get loads of snow. It turns to shit pretty quickly. The resorts where I am are pretty basic too. Further South east both the centres and the snow improves.

Last Winter was insane though. Ice and rain one day. Shit tons of powder the NeXT.

ED: this is Smallfurry BTW. Log in gone a bit mad.)
