Totally agree.
All the trails near me are kind multi use. But those closer to built up areas will have Walkers. People should definitely be allowed to og for a walk in relative Peace and safety. I either ride With care. Or travel away from the popular hiking spots.
This is where off-road strava segments can be fucking stupid.
This is a tricky one. Some times I think it is important that walkers can use a path that they know wont have riders flying down. Around lots of the North Downs there are plenty of bike friendly trails but so many riders, it's important that people can get away from us. However some paths would be ideal "up only" routes, i.e., don't come flying down at breakneck speed but feel free to chug up it. Very difficult to put in place though so my feelings on the whole subject are very mixed.
