  • Another thing worth looking at is that if the post is a little sticky going up and down, a light reaming would sufficent in having a butterly smooth movement (any bike shop that does Brompton have that tool, I hope).

  • All jokes aside, it is a bit sticky but this seems to be to do with the plastic collar inside the seattube. I've taken it out and cleaned a lot of the grime off but it's not perfect. Do I need a new one?

  • Nah, just a light reaming will make it smoother, you shouldn't be able to take out the plastic collar as it glued to the frame using a solvent that I can only obtain from Brompton.

    TBF a lots of Brompton come with a slightly sticky seattube for some reason (we were taught to ream it slightly if it come like that).

    Just to be clear, the photo I've posted earlier is not for the Brompton.
