Quintana heard over the radio that Betancur's broken into his pantry back in Bogota and he needs to get back ASAP.

90 riders just finished 22 minutes outside the time limit.
-
• #229
Blimey, surely they won't apply the rule?
-
• #230
Unlikely, but with Sky down to just Froome, I imagine some teams are pushing hard for it.

All riders outside the time limit deducted 25 points from the points classification but can start tomorrow.

Just caught up on the last 4 days' highlights. Bloody great entertainment.
Has anyone checked Ellisonde is old enough to take part?

Two incredible days of racing. This is shaping up to be the best GT of the year by far (and perhaps an overall classic?).

A team of one would of been interesting. Maybe do an islebike thing like one bike each per race . 2 orica 3 movistar and a few katusha left after the time cut.

Tinkoff and Movistar had a little chat together on Saturday night ? Riders from both teams where swarming around the Comms car before the flag dropped.

Contador and Valverde were nattering away at the start line. I reckon it was Tinkoff's idea and they gave Movistar the head's up - and why not? They could surely never have expected to have caught the whole of Sky Team out like that, though. I reckon Froome is pretty pissed at his team mates.
Also, respect to Chaves for being able to claw some time back when Froome was unable to. -

Sounds like Movistar are working Sky over properly. Got Moreno in the break on Saturday to force Sky to chase all day, then mugged them yesterday. Haven't seen the stage yet but sounds like great racing.

Question for those who understand better than me...
Should a decent road captain or DS have been able to spot that coming? It's hard to imagine a team with Mick Rogers or Eisel getting mugged with a move like that.
I know Sky worked hard the day before, but still...

David Millar seemed to think so (assuming that Sky have a road captain). He suggested that Tinkoff gathered at the front around the race director's car should have had everybody on their guard.

Thanks, Brexit.

Possible sky were all just fucked and didn't have the legs.
-
• #242
Froome didn't have the legs to go with Chaves. Maybe he is starting to lose his form.
-
• #243
Amazed the fact people are crying foul that grupetto wasn't eliminated yesterday as some sort of pro-Sky bias. A group of 90 riders.
-
• #244
Yeah, really stupid.
-
• #245
Has David Millar always sounded quite so plummy?
Sounds like he should be commentating on Horse of the Year.
-
• #246
Yes.
-
• #247
He was educated privately, no?

My wife looked up from her book whilst I was watching the ToF highlights and asked if he was the Benedict Cumberbatch of cycling.
-
• #249
I remember him bitching about a wet TT stage waaaaay back (rightly so to be fair).
So very close to saying 'it simply isnt cricket' I thought.

I didn't hear it like that. I just heard riders complaining that half the peloton would be riding with fresh legs. I didn't hear anybody having a pop at Sky in particular.
Nairo Quintana owes David Lopez fifty Euros from a bet they had on the Olympic archery competition. Lopez demanded payment this morning so Quintana got a move on.
