i found carrying the frame in my trash bag faster and more convenient at the time rather than strap it and have it rattle(and maybe chip the paint) on the rack.
I've cut up an old tyre and ziptied it around the rim of my huge Wald basket for rattle and chip free carrying of frames etc.
sounds good, i've also a pile of inner tubes to be tied over the rack to reduce friction but also maybe rattling.
althoug i still prefer my trash with more delicate matters, don't have to be too careful with riding either
