The extra potential energy doesn't make a difference seeing as kinetic energy also is proportional to mass.

My numbers are from 15 years after I quitted competition. Think I was slight better back than: now I use a 36*26 to climb Mont Ventoux, back than that was 39*23. ;-)
Maybe my age (44) is a reason why I don't care about weight anymore (except my own weight) or FTP's, NP's,... Sold the powermeter a year ago, now I just ride the bikes I love to ride (steel ones).

Agree on everything minus steel .. I think I am too young for 'nostalgia' .. I just want to ride the lightest, stiffest most aero carbon bikes all the time ;)

A lot ! maybe 12cm..
Just finished this:
I'm in love with frame's detail..
Mixed parts, DA headset, Nitto stem, Campagnolo hubs, Strong crank, Izumi chain..
23mm Conti GP4000S..
Quite happy with the result, surprisingly it's a super smooth ride in terms of mechanic, and the closed steering angle gives a bright behavior to the bike..

-

PM'ed
-
• #109943
absolutely !
but the thing with weight is that one can go big trousers by showing off his light weight bike at the coffee stop. hard to do with geo and stiffness ! ;) -
• #109944
Doesn't really matter if they're not much faster. Light bikes are fun.
Though tbf most big weight savings are down to wheelsets and that's where the feel/performance is too.

26" dailys are so hot right neow.
also some sweepy bars would be pretty nice imo :)

It's like you resent the photographer - I assume it's you?
Looks like a nice ride.
Nah, too much commitment and admin .. I am not naturally competitive and can't be arsed to race.
