They're just sitting there. I can't use them in the kitchen.

have a look at the iqaudio amp/raspberry pi thing, damo.
they are apparently pretty good.

Ahhh! Okay understand. Would suggest you get what I'm getting, wifi it up and run speakers through it. Otherwise little digital mini system with dab and hook speakers up to that.
Otherwise you're deep into separates world which is a world of expensive hurt just to use speakers that are lying around... -

Cheers.....
What's a good on here price for the amp I'm selling? Don't want to rip off potential buyers.
-
• #3281
About £50?
-
• #3282
That was my gut feels.
Thanks.

I'm not sold on the price the amp was a richer sounds only amp and though it does have a good bits the ones were sold for £80 in richer sounds.
On ebay the prices vary wildly . I try and get the A1 mk1 for below £15(usually with a blown channel sometimes working fine) as you can see in this picture look at the power supply and the lovely finned cooler for the tda chips to be cooled. Perfect for building gain clone chip amps. If you look at the mk3
But then if you look on ebay some go for a high price and yet others go for a few quid so I have no idea.

^^I gave one of these to the Forest Hill Cancer Research charity shop last week as last time I asked on here no-one on here wanted it freebies. Would have been new in around 2001/2. Whatever.

That does look like fun. would be good for using as a studio grotbox too.
I need to get into my new place before deciding what my new set up is going to look like. Thinking wifi dongle thingy into Yamaha AS500 and Q Acoustic 2020s in the dowstairs daytime living room/kitchen.
Upstairs living room is going to have my studio monitors on a desk at one end but I will probably build a nice chunky silver and teak 70s system as a second reference and for vinyl. Have been craving a set of giant three way JBLs since I listened to a friend's set in Germany last year.

^ will be super jealous if you get some big JBLs.
I did start looking for a pair a few years back. Then got distracted by the idea of big Tannoy DCs in custom corner cabs. Then bought a bike instead...

I inherited a pair of these of my old man. Woofers and tweeters are all dried up and ripped, but cabinets are still solid. Anyone got ideas on where to get replacement elements?

Lots of jbl specialists are unsurprisingly in the USofA. Options I'm aware of:
repairs kits and bits can be found on eBay
somewhere like wilmslow audio may be able to help - http://www.wilmslow-audio.co.uk/
here's another place that google threw up; I don't know anything about them - http://www.speaker-repairs.co.uk/Do you have the model number?

Been asked 100 times already but here goes:
Wiring up some speakers in my kitchen, book shelf. Am I right to be concerned about speaker wire? This came up in a previous part of the thread Van Damme Blue Series.
The distance will be over 10-12 m, will this kind of cable do the job?
-
• #3298
1) No
2) Yes -
• #3299
Concise. I like it.

• #3300
Another reason to get it right is I'm having the cable chased into the wall so needs to be spot on.
I has Roberts already.
I have a pair of speakers just sitting around doing nothing....
