They didn't know. Seems the 'brains' of the mech were functioning, but not the mechanics.

Usual sram/zipp issues MK1 faulty/recall ;)

How weird.

With a bit of luck they'll fix it properly on the first recall, rather than leaving it until a second.
-
• #1807
so 2019 is about the right purchase time?
-
• #1808
I suppose this is a good thing; gives me time to save up for it.

Given that SRAM/Zipp are still fixing defects on front hubs they sold in 2008, I'd say 2019 may be a bit optimistic. It's OK though, because I'd imagine Shimano will be doing wireless stuff by then, and getting it right first time round.

Thought as much. Great looking bike though!

I look great after Photoshop too.

@andyp are you using Ultegra Di2 rear mech with NW chainring? Although I love the idea of XTR the price is double the long cage 6870 mech .. if I can get away with B tension adjustment and 11-36 with long cage I'll go for it .. plus I remember @Dammit saying that XTR mech doesn't connect via etube or something.

I am using both a short and medium cage 6870 rear mech with NW chainrings (50t and 36t)
Has worked flawlessly, although the max I have used is a 32t so far.

nice one, thanks! Have you 'hacked' the mech to increased its spring tension .. I know there is a provision for this in mechanical versions, not sure about Di2.
The 36 shouldn't be an issue according to this: http://www.gravelcyclist.com/bicycle-tech/bike-tinkering-101-attempting-the-impossible/

nope - running standard.

Sadly I don't have a money gun to hand, so am using mechanical shifting on my cross bike still.
-
• #1821
You must've seen this then?

I hit the deck like the donkey that I am the other day on what I think was its 4th outing and scraped up my left etap lever. How do I go about getting a replacement lever, pop into any old lbs and ask them to help? I can't seem to find sram spares online.

Why? Doesn't it work?
-
• #1824
Just wait for it to be re-called.

It works, but I don't like it looking like that. Best bike and all that.
Both unlucky and lucky at the same time. Did they say what exactly went wrong with it?
