Yes, but you run them at lower pressure so you have a much larger contact patch, also from my understanding threads on slicks doesn't equal grip in the wet unless you're a car.
Bikes have too narrow tyres to aquaplane so don't need tread. I suspect manufacturers put it there because they think customers used to car tyres expect a tyre to have tread.
I wouldn't be surprised if tyres with tread actually have less grip in the wet.
Yes, this is what I was gonna go for but they lack any thread (like One's, which are SO GODDAMN slippery in the wet over anything that isn't tarmac) and that concerns me ever so slightly.
