Decided to revisit my pile of shame and tonight I will be playing Alien Isolation with ps4 headphones, in dark, on my own. I only encountered the Alien once before and it shit me up and I stopped playing haha

I need to revisit that. Similar thing - skulked around for a few hours and eventually saw it. Shat myself, almost not even figuratively. And hid in a locker since then distracting myself with happier aliens like Chewie in Star Wars Battlefront.

I'm still enjoying Deus Ex - just arrived at Golem.

I need to turn on subtitles in the conversations if there are such things. I can never be bothered with voice acting so constantly space bar my way through convos until I get to decision making moments and then have to guess what was previously said. In Human Revolution I remember there being subtitles so even if you skipped through the chat you could still speed read on screen and have an idea what was going on.

Only one regret so far. I snuck through the station without being seen or even tranquillising any cops after the bomb to get the evidence for smiley, did a really nice stealthy job then right at the end I flicked a circuit breaker, because circuit breakers, and killed some cop who was standing near some dodgy wiring. Millar calls me up - "you're suspended from duty until you see the psychiatrist" ffs.

Still enjoying Mankind Divided. In fact in later game it's brilliant for series fans if you make sure you pick up all the points of interest and side missions as well as just the main campaign. Loads of references to the first Deus Ex and how that story came to be. Dead satisfying seeing Bob Page, Stanton Dowd and Morgan Everett all together again.

Revelations on the Nintendo NX look... odd.
Looks like it'll be totally handheld, which is okay, but it'll probably be a little too big to be nicely portable. Two detachable controllers on the sides - but will they be too simple when used individually for multiplayer? Using ARM architecture - likely with an Nvidia tegra chip. Will this make it hard to port games from PS4/xbone? If so then Nintendos software/3rd party woes aren't going anywhere.

I don't know about porting from PS4/Xbox, but using a tegra chip would puts it in smart phone/tablet territory, no? After Pokemon Go's success that's not a bad long term plan, I suppose. Especially when Nintendo lost the Console arms race years ago.

In what sense? It's the same kind of chip yeah, but I don't think it'll be a smartphone or tablet as such...

Trine 2 - another 720p30 game on Sony and Microsoft's last-gen consoles - operates at 1080p30 on Tegra X1. Typically speaking, OpenGL games port really well to Tegra X1, while DirectX ports, like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and the recently released Resident Evil 5, aren't so impressive.

And there's talk that the NX could be Tegra X2, which would suggest games could look great. Considering distance to, and size of the screen and screen size, it wouldn't have to push many pixels to look good.
