Thanks much appreciated! I'll install my DA pedals and give them a go for a while with the sh51s.
Recently to save on postage I bought 2 pairs of Sm sh71 cleats. if you (or anyone else) would like a pair I'm willing to sell one on.

i want to do this to my aventon cordoba frame. what grit sandpaper do you recommend for the process? want it nice and smooth in the bare areas.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJx_uJkgI1Z/?taken-by=chrome_industries. i have a small sheet of 80 grit at my disposal tho. would that be enough? -

I'd say start with 60 and work up to 120 or so.

I'd use 400 or 800 to finish after doing ^
To get it smooooth -

He's not finishing a layer of paint, he wants to raw/rat some tubes. This is no time for a dick measuring contest.

Neither am I, 2500 doesn't get you to shiny.

Picked this old TT frame up on ebay. Had some non original HUGE clearance forks on, so found this pair and threw them on. Torn between riding it fixed or chucking a few gears on it!?!!

Not sure whether the 60 grit paper was a joke or not.. OP, please don't use 60 grit, you'll ruin your frame. 60grit would be used for removing 5 layers of paint from rawt iron gates.
You should be fine with 240 and go all the way up to 1000. Then use scotch brite pads to brush the aluminium.

I'm using 120 on an old alu tifosi and it's taking an age, probably going to get some 60

-
• #109895
6,1 with speedplay titanium :)
@germanmarc, there isn't really.. does there have to be a reason? is there a reason for lightweight road bikes?

They go up hills
-

have you seen the gradient on tracks?
and you have to go down that hill aswell...

Weak argument :)

a lightweight bike weighs 6.5 kilo, a heavy bike 8. An average rider weighs 75 kilo, his outfit 3 kilo, his drinks 1 kilo. All together that's an advantage of 1.72% for the lightweight adept. For pro's that's significant, for most of us that's negligible as we loose more time due to bad physical condition.
Stronger argument? ;-)

Has anyone used the Shimano ST-RS405 hydraulic disc shifters?
They don't look great, but I've heard good things about new Tiagra.
