Why was it packaged badly? Did you know this and just send it anyway? From a frame right down to a bell, stuff should be packaged to withstand 10 Hiroshimas...

I think as a seller, you deal with a lot of time wasters. This is not a good enough reason to post them in 'bad traders' thread, imho

That's a fair comment, I've usually had very good experiences both buying and selling on here. First instance of having my time wasted, it irritates me as for the most part. People on here are friendly and considerate.

I don't know what "3 massive chips" ma2med0z is talking about. The buyer was able to highlight only one small chip in his photos and other damaged he said is new can be found in my photos of the frame. I trusted his description of how the frame was packed when it arrived and I think it might have happened while shipping but the're no way to be sure. I take responsibility if it was packaged poorly, but I was confident it was packaged well when I posted.
I believe the buyer thinks he overplayed and wants to get a compensation, but he's not getting it because he was not able to show the "massive" damage that he is talking about. The buyers behavior is not fair and is mostly delusional and over reacting to something that only the buyer can see.
This will not affect the buyer, but after all this slander it may be more difficult for me to sell the frame again on this forum - that's not very fair. The seller could've just sold it for a bit more £ than he payed and saved everybody a lot of time.

'This will not affect the buyer', actually even though PayPal has sided with me and I can send it back for a refund- I have to pay return shipping because they legally can't make you pay it cause that would be debting you or something. I raised this with them and they acknowledge that it's a problem so offer up to £15 of return postage. So I'm down shipping to Lithuania, seeing as I'm not going to send it uninsured loose in a box cause I'm not a prick

But the point is - this is simply your fault for packaging the frame with 3 bits of foam and some zip ties... And for not getting insurance and not even mentioning that to me.

Still, the frame wasn't advertised as "mint conditions".
If I read "paint is scratched" and I'm anal about it:

• I would't by a 2nd hand gangsta

Plus, how could those scratches happen during transit? Aren't those cleat marks?

I would personally send a frame how I would like to receive one, fully bubble wrapped up, newspaper and sprinkle some oregano or some other herb in there for good luck.

When I have bought frames, I always ask sellers to package/protect the frame in whatever protection they can find, or send in a very rigid bike box and have the frame padded enough so it doesn't move around freely with newspaper. If you use enough newspaper it doesn't increase the weight by much and offers a pretty safe means of transport.

In the full hi res image there are scratches there, but not as many as I see in the recipients photos, so if the fork wasn't attached to frame and zip tied to the downtube during transport then I don't really understand how those extra marks were made. Either way I wouldn't be that annoyed. Its a used frame and would use it as a beater so its bound to get scratches along the way. Shit happens so its best to just get over it and if they bother you that much get some nail polish from your local 99p store/chemist and go over the scratches.

At the end of the day who buys a crooklyn and really cares about scratches? I thought the point of buying a beater was to throw it about town?

But meh, as mentioned the seller's shit attitude and story changing is why that transaction has made it here.

It's pretty easy to say how cool and chill you are from the position of it not happening to you, but tbh it was pretty expensive for a used gangsta, so I expected it at least to turn up as it looked in the photos. To me- the damage is beyond the reasonable amount you might expect to happen during transport. Add to that the fact that it was packaged very badly, and that the seller was a mug when challenged on it...
And ultimately - as I said to seller, I wouldnt have paid what I did if I knew it would turn up like that

anyway - if everyone thinks that this is normal then fine tbh lesson learnt - i will not be buying second hand frames without seeing them again in the future.

I don't think it's normal, for what it's worth.

I said keep the frame and agree appropriate compensation, bring the money exchanged in line with the condition as received.
