After forgetting to check a couple of ebay listings in time and not liking the lack of flange on chinese Brompfication seatpost copies I've taken the plunge and ordered the real thing new...
Have now spent near enough the original purchase price on upgrades and extras! Probably worth it though, it's so fun to ride, even when I accidentally took it down a stairset I hadn't spotted in time.
Another thing worth looking at is that if the post is a little sticky going up and down, a light reaming would sufficent in having a butterly smooth movement (any bike shop that does Brompton have that tool, I hope).
