Got some of that lifeline tape mentioned a few pages back. I don't know how it compares to lizard skins as I've never used it but it's pretty grippy and surprisingly thick. I'm not convinced it'll wear that well, but the price was right and it'll stop me losing my grip on the bars when sweating on the rollers.

Also looks exactly like CRC Brand-X 'Diamond Pattern' tape, except for the perforations.

'Bought the CRC stuff when Planet-X were out my favourite 'Non Slip Textured Gel' bar tape which doesn't seem to be available right now (old link to 404! http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/BTPXNSG/planet-x-non-slip-textured-gel-bar-tape), but much prefer the PX stuff due to its stretch and appearance. -

This I think?

Extraneous "G" in your link

That planet x stuff is really good, lifeline stuff definitely feels cheaper but stickier. The zipper cx stuff is a good option for grippy tape as well, but that wears really quickly.

That one is still decent, but not quite as good. The 'gel' version, with the file pattern 'micro grip texture', is the one, if or when it's available.

Yoeleo offers SAT carbon rims that have no spoke holes. Do other vendors' tubeless ready rims have the same structure? It is difficult to see from the marketing pictures.

Braking suddenly went louder and rougher and the track was picking up a lot more blue brake pad than usual. Cleaned it up when I got home and looks like the 'basalt' surface has cracked. Was not doing suitable riding for carbon rims to be fair, but still a shame. Rims are Farsports 23mm wide 60mm deep.

Which pads were you using?

Wiggle LifeLine. First noticed/happened whilst descending a tight set of hairpins in the Dales.

How long have you had them for?
-
• #4887
Since April - probably done 10ish 10 mile TTs (what I bought them for) and 350ish miles of Dales riding. Been careful with the routes I choose because I know this can happen, but got lax whilst out the other day.

email them immediately imo, these companies are usually super on it with complaints

I would've done already, but bought them off someone in the UK on ebay, who'd never used them. Could always try I guess, see if they can do a discounted replacement.

@ light-bicycle rim owners - how bad is the sting with customs? do they mark down?

I'm getting a bit fed up of waiting for my bike from Sobato now.
I asked for an update last night and they said exactly the same as what they said the previous week - we're doing the UD finish, shipping on Monday.
Place your bets now on what they'll say when I get in touch next Wednesday.

I now have a VCLS copy. Will fit it this weekend.

Give it 3/4 weeks in total. I've had things arrive much sooner but my last track frame from China took a full 3 weeks to arrive

Thanks for prompting me to contact them. Getting a new rim sent, just need to pay postage.

What's the minimum distance between the collar and the rails? I imagine the springy part can't be inserted but can't find measurements on it. I'm considering getting one for a bike that's ever so slightly too big for me, so not a whole load of post showing.

Cool, cheers!
Road disc fork with straight 1 1/8" steerer that won't kill me. Does such a thing exist? Open to thru axle or QR.
