  • Get it wet more often? No ta.

  • new page, no context. hurm.

  • Interesting discussion, thanks for input folks. I'm going to stick with it a while longer.

  • This is all I can picture, reading through this thread

  • what does washing your hands with soap do that a good hard rub under running water wouldn't in the vast majority of cases ?

  • Get a really good military brush

  • I dont wipe my arse after taking a shit either

  • I don't wash my jeans......

  • I use shampoo once a month, hot water every day though.

  • I so want to agree with some of the comments. The thing I struggle with is that IRL everyone I've met who doesn't use deodorant / soap, etc did actually smell.

They'd be convinced and wouldn't realise it themselves, but they did. Even more so in the summer.

@lasyrabbit -I definitely agree with the clothes point, but isn't it changing and washing twice a day more hassle, and probably worse for the environment than just using some deodorant?

  • "I don't need deodorant, I've been told my natural smell is great" said a pal of mine.
Dude, I don't know how to tell you this... but you do and it isn't.

  • a lot of a persons odour relates to the food they eat, garbage in, garbage out as the old saying goes

me, i eat sugar and spice and all things nice and smell as fragrant as the royal inn on the park on a wind free hot summers day

  • I did this once at Uni when I had really long hair. It did get super greasy, but the most interesting thing was that my hair itself became really elastic. I went back to washing it in the end - I just wanted to see what would happen.

Weirdly, it didn't get that smelly, whereas now my hair smells horrendous if I go more than 3 days without washing it.

I seem to be getting generally smellier as I age.

  • Not used any shampoo for about 15 years. always had fairly short hair, though.

  • Seeing as it's already the topic of conversation, just tell them?

I sometimes use a bit of light deodorant but never antiperspirant, I hope someone tells me if I actually smell bad...

  • okay this thread is whatever it is, but i'm wondering, what the hell do you do after say sweating your nads off on the bicycle? what about when you swim in a pool or the ocean? i mean i come up against these situations at least three times a week. You gonna just rinse off? I have to be fairly put together for work as well.

  • how does a person who sweats their nads of cycling be any different to a person who sweats their nads of cycling but doesn't shampoo ?

like any sports person, a shower after any activity isn't out of the ordinary, why should a person who doesn't shampoo be any different, we've just lost the shampoo bottle not our minds
hard bike ride have a shower
    swim have a shower
    sporting activity have a shower

  • I still use shower gel.

    Just not on my head.

  • I can understand not using shampoo but not using deodorant is just plain mental... don't understand that whatsoever!

  • l'oreals billions spent on advertising has worked

  • Can't remember the last time i washed my hair. A good rinse under some fresh water does it for me! As for deodorant i just use bionsen mineral spray stuff, kills odour better than antiperspirant (which doesn't actually stop me from sweating) and I don't ruin my tshirts with that horrible build up of old deodorant in the armpits.

  • a lot of a persons odour relates to the food they eat

    I second this opinion!

  • I don't think it's that.

I just believe I'm worth it.

  • You mean it was worth it?
