40@40
40 year anniversary? Special badge? I still don't have my RRtY badge.

Only on the outside of the envelope in which your postal entry is sent.

A cheque book... Plus enter fairly early as it sells out. Think you might need to be an AUK member as well though not sure about that.
-

This year AUK members took priority, I loved BCM such a great ride, really want to do it again next year, but the Wessex SR and The Pendle are my priorities before LEL.

Looks like I already have 35 points. I don't remember riding that many events! Need to find some more rides to do after this 24hr.

Looks like I already have 35 pints.
There's always room for more, though.

when does BCM entry open?
-
• #5685
When the organiser gets round to it. Probably in the new year.
He also organises the Welsh 12 hour which is usually about now, but it was earlier this year, so he might do BCM earlier. Best to keep checking the website:

and / or YACF -

That'll give me some reason to keep churning the pedals through to the end of the year instead of going full beer festival mode.

And the Festive 500! You're not a real cyclist until you get a little Rapha badge.................
-
• #5689
I've done the Festive 500 every year I think and I've made a point of not getting any of the badges.
-
• #5690
Yeah but you kept riding 600's no? That's 6 points a go. Not that hard to rack em up really.
-
• #5691
Um, I don't even remember. I rode BCM and another one that failed to finish last xmas, um, Blizzard, Blinder, BUZZARD! So I've ridden at least two 600s but I don't remember the other stuff. I think a couple of 200s early in the year to finish RRtY. I need to login and look at my results. I'll get this 24hr done, maybe another TT and then have a look what is left in the audax calendar. Maybe have to hit some perms.
Greenwich Mean Climb if I'm not racing might be an option.

I've put in a late entry for the Flatlands 600.
Plan to just drive over early in the morning and then ride straight through. Then I'll sleep in the car or somewhere until I'm fit to drive home.

Just finished the Borders of Belgium 1000km earlier today. And it was absolutely brilliant. Cycling at its best. What an amazing country, most lovely support and amazing riders on the road. Would recommend.
-
• #5694
Sounds interesting. How'd you find out about that? Is there a Belgian audax site?
-
• #5695
There will be, but go on YACF. There's always a thread on long events worldwide for the following year.
-
• #5696
Too many forums. I see a thread about it now and a menu of epic rides thread but be nice to know in advance some of these are on. I'd not seen that Belgium thread at all until now.

I guess the 2017 calendar will be published later this month/early October

Easier to look on YACF than go round hundreds of national organisations!
ACP does a consolidated calendar at the end of the year, but it's a bit clunky so still (IME) easier to go on YACF where someone else will have translated and decoded it.
There will be one thread covering all the 1000 km ones.
There's a 1200 in China coming up next month that i'd love to do, given no other commitments, work, etc. -

I have too much encryption on my phone to go to China and make it back out alive. :P

This might help track longer rides if it's regularly updated too: http://www.randonneursmondiaux.org/22-Calendar.html?langue=EN
Just checked my results page on AUK and my Isle of Wight perm has been validated. Woo hoo. That brings me up to 39 points so just one more to go for 40@40. Still on course for a double parallel rrty but still have another 7 months of doubles to go. Flatlands next and a chance to try out my new Carradice Super C rack pack. And a 600 on fixed.
