Yep, I agree with that tape tbh. Even straight flouro pink could work?

Yep, super 90's style too!!

pink cables?
-
• #31
Maybe a pink bottle cage too!

Glad to help. Contrasting fluro always works with the cables (cable/frame contrast) IMO.
For me the dream is this:
With all black bits and mint green cables.
The Rossin will be banging.

Thanks mate!
Dare to dream!! ; ) I like your plan, I hope you can achieve it some day soon. -

Finally got my hands on a pair of Campagnolo Record pedals from the Titanium groupset which will match the Campagnolo Record Titanium 9 speed groupset I'm waiting to arrive.

Finally got my complete Campagnolo Record Titanium 9 speed groupset together, so hopefully this thing will be ready to ride before too long. Groupset is from 1997, other than the titanium seatpost which is from the 1999 Campagnolo Record groupset.

NOS Selle Italia Flite titanium saddle, also from 1997 which I think will work nicely with this build.

Finally got time to get this thing on the road, only a year behind schedule too.. not bad!
I put pink splash tape on it initially, but it wasn't working the way I'd hoped so I went with a complimentary blue tape instead which I think works a lot better.

Flippen yell ! would love to have a ride on that thing. You must be a proud owner right now. Good job!

What an awesome machine! Only thing left to do is close the quick release on the left brifter :)
p.s. if you don't insist on it being 100% period correct, you could fit some compact bars. Judging from your pictures you seem to prefer a flat transition to the hoods which arguably works better with compact bars.
pps I think black bartape and saddle might be a good idea to contrast the Frame :)

Judging from the pictures I see no preference at all for a flat transition (because there is no flat)
It's an awesome build! My only critique would be the placement of the ergopowers too far up the bars. Did you want them closer by? Should be a litter further down imo.

Shifters are definitely too far up, what I meant was that he did not install the bars with the top part sloping downwards as is normally the case with ergobars.
like so:

Yeah we're onto the same thing :)
The reach on timetrial frames set up as road bikes can be a little tricky. I'm running a shorter stem and compact bars on my Tiemeyer as well.
-
• #45
Exactly :) Once you get used to compact bars you don't want to miss them both from an ergonomical and aesthetic perspective. Plus they function as a secret symbol for LFGSS membersthip identification purposes when used on old steel Frames ;)

If you can survive with the bars tilted down more, do iiiiit.
Looks good all round!

Thanks mate, I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll play with the bar set up as needed once I've taken this thing for a proper ride. Personally I'm not a fan of the black tape and saddle, it's a bit white bread for a late 90's bike in my opinion, think Cipollini and Pantani.

Thanks for liking! I've tilted the bars forward a bit now, I'll see how it rides and make further adjustments if needed.
Thanks Carabo!
I did toy with the idea of Splash tape for this build, purely because it would suit the era to a T.
And although you'd think blue and white would've been a match made in heaven, it actually didn't look right! I think perhaps too matchy, matchy when the 90's were all about contrasting colour schemes.
These were the colours I thought highlighted the pink in the Zonda wheelset and worked best with the frame. Still not convinced though?
