I think single speed and rigid forks go hand in hand, but, that said, I should get over my suspension fork servicing phobia.

Understood. Bad memories of buying used forks which were probably long due a service when they came into my possession.

I'll save my money for a servicing kit, and there's always cross bikes for the depths of winter.
