Don't worry - it will be ready for that charitably warm Norwegian winter.

To be fair I was riding the roadie. Buying parts for the meta.
-

Don't say that.
I'm nicking the brakes off the snow bike!

Actually need a new dropper post. Fixing my jammed one with a hammer didn't pan out too well.
-
• #8906
Maybe try a bigger hammer.
-
• #8907
Nah. This one was big enough to bend the handle 90 degrees and back.

Mjolnir is overkill for general maintenance.

Anyone care to recommend a carbon fork? I'm looking for a 15mm axle and a tapered steerer. Obviously I'd like a Niner, but not at retail prices, and I'm not too sure what else out there is reasonable.

I got a Whiskey No 9 fork, super nice, but quite expensive. Much nicer than that Enve tat.

These look pretty good for the money. I could even justify keeping a bouncy fork for the 2 months of dry trails we have.
Only sticking point is the maximum 160mm rotor, I'm running 180mm at the moment.

Don't you ride a plastic bike?

I race a plastic bike.
I ride a titanium hardtail :)

Can't you do what normal people do and run suspension forks?
-
• #8917
Have you entered Epping Forest after September!?
I think single speed and rigid forks go hand in hand, but, that said, I should get over my suspension fork servicing phobia.

exotics ?

Nothing modern suspension fork seals can't handle

Can still be handy to have a set of rigids handy, for while you're servicing the sus-fork.
-
• #8921
Or a spare set of suspension forks.

• #8922
Or a spare bike.

Attached to a spare bike.

That.

Understood. Bad memories of buying used forks which were probably long due a service when they came into my possession.
I'll save my money for a servicing kit, and there's always cross bikes for the depths of winter.
Worst. Reason. Ever.
