James at Quirk Cycles lovely brazing...
Is it a On-One CroMo perhaps?
-
• #629
Ah yes, did a few more pages back and saw that it was brazed. Pretty neat.

@Thrust , it was a gusset trials fork, http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Gusset-Jury-SL-Street-Trials-Fork_43304.htm
had the right a-c for older rigid mtb, and then yeah Rob Quirk did the brazing
edit. not sure why i wrote James at Quirk earlier on, meant Rob

can take some pics tonight if you need

This is awesome. Are there more photos/info anywhere? I'd guess tyres are rat trap pass? What about the mudguards or the rear rack?

My monster tourer is getting a bit tame with a hub dynamo front wheel, Luxos IQ2 front light and some sensible Continental TravelContacts installed for an ongoing trip to Iceland.

Brilliant! Hows the weather there?
-
• #635
Better than what I expected. So far some rain and some wind, but generally sunny and warm. I've actually managed to get helmet strap tan lines and mild sunburns. One week behind us and three to go.

Cheers. Yes, RTP. The rear rack is a £5 jumble find. Really nice lightweight tubular steel. Probably 40's. The guards are 650b Lefol le Martele. Again another cheap jumble score.

Amazing. I always have an illusion of howling winds and sideways rain.
Landscape looks incredible, would love to see more pics. -

Fantastic. Works well visually with the stem-bars-hoods all flush like that

It's also very comfortable in this setup. Steel mudguards and a different rack still to come.

Maxxis DTH 2.15 I wanted to use schwalbe Crazy Bobs but they are twice the weight...

Updated mine. Now with a botched up rear fender.

I'm in love<3

Fantastic! Single shifter on the left?
-
• #646
Yeah. Sram TT shifter used as a bar-end shifter.

This is so very good. Well done!
What is the idea of the rear fender? Or did it break off or something. I'm also toying with the idea of putting a disc fork on my Muddy Fox. Canti's don't brake for shit.
-

Breezy man. That's what I did on mine with some AWOL forks You suddenly realise how invaluable discs are when the bike is loaded up. Even thinking of fitting HS33's on the rear just to see how well that would work.

I recycled an old front fender and used it as a rear one. So it's a bit on the short side (but that's actually quite helpful when I need to put the bike upright in the elevator).
I had to drill new holes in it, and I couldn't manage to get them centered and aligned, so the fender and struts are a bit off.
But hey, it works! -

I just went from L sized Karate Monkey to Krampus in XL and I love it. It was super smooth on trails even when loaded with camping gear.
What's the fork on this please?
