Hello Grubby, We would love to hear from leisure cyclists, but this survey screening mechanism is not customizable, it works as either in or out. We are attempting to single out anybody that uses two wheels as a main mode of transportation, basically people that would grab the bike to get around here and there, but lets say every once in a while grab a cabby or the tube in nights when they get hammered etc..
Once you adopt cycling as a main transportation mode, your mind and senses wraps around it, and you have much better control of hazards.
For example, people who went hiatus on motorcycling or pedal cycling, for years and came back to ride one after some breaks were had a much higher risk of being involved in an accident.
we want to design something that cyclists can use as a weapon to their disposal, to stop IJH (it just happened!) type of accidents by giving them a headstart and informing them what hazards are ahead, and it is other cyclists that can place hazard warnings and severity for others. In short, its like a hazard collaborative platform for cyclists.
Say you ride to your home and notice someone left out a huge diesel spill (some truck or car), and you lost control but thankfully survived, and you decide to add the hazard and set up its definition (type of hazard, severity etc..). Other guys who will take the same road, can utilize this and you could end up saving someone's life as a result.
Others who pass by weeks later may notice hazard is no longer in place, and can remove it from the road. So it's a collaborative platform we are trying to create, but the question is how? we donot want to distract you as a cyclist, and this is the challenge.
Screened out.
Would have been good to know you don't want to hear from leisure cyclists before I started the survey.
Some of us are not city / office based and have to drive.
