I have a Sobato frame on order which I bought through Ebay. I got notice on Tuesday through Ebay that it had been dispatched, along with a tracking number. The tracking number didn't work, so I emailed today to ask if they could check it and they said the frame was still in production and would be sent on Monday next week. How does that compute?

I've ordered several things from aliexpress and they've done that almost every time. Add a tracking number that doesn't work and then beg me to just be patient when I ask

Maybe they have some kind of pre-paid collection and the tracking number will go live once the courier has collected it from them. It's still within the window of time they said it would take to ship, but I just got prematurely excited that it was on the way. Its gold chain arrived from Wiggle this morning.

I think they just fake it to make the despatch window and maintain their seller rating. I've ordered stuff that has had a tracking number which has changed after a week or so.

Yeah I agree! Had this happen a few times

The tracking number goes live as soon as they advise the courier, but is not updated before collection.
I had the same thing with a parcel from the UK last week. No tracking for about 4 days. It did stress me out a bit.
As to why they would advise the courier before the frame is even made is another question. Probably dglshrn is on to something ^.

Once it does leave the factory, how long should I expect it to be before it's at my door, including customs shenanigans?

Try the tracking number on http://www.17track.net/en/

The silver lenses on my POC's won't fit, should I take a file to it or bin them?

Looking to sell them on? Been tempted but haven't got around to placing an order.

Yeah this. I've sold on ebay before and if you choose to buy postage through the ebay site, it adds the tracking number that the buyer can see as soon as you buy the postage. It also marks it as dispatched too which is annoying, When I bought a frame it said parcelforce 48 and was marked dispatched the next day so I ended up waiting around the whole day when I expected it. The seller didn't actually post it for another three days.

Are there Orient Express knock-off TT frames available anywhere? All I see are a couple of basic models, one with integrated stem and one without.

Loads, pricey though. Would look at a 2nd hand cervelo p2 classic as they are still very fast and can be had for less.

Been looking for one of those, but can't find anything in 58cm. Or much of anything to be honest.
I though TT frames would be ten a penny with people giving up racing and not having the need for a TT bike whereas you'd tend to keep a road frame longer for general riding. And those that are seriously racing getting shot because of upgrades.

Sounds a bit suspect. Crashed carbon frame?

Lots of places doing Jagwire brake cables*, but not the compressionless. Just ordered a pink set through Amazon (under £20 as they're pink). Anyone find compressionless on ali etc... let me know.
*I ordered a set which are ok but they sent me 2xbrake inner, 1x rear brake outer (long) and 1xshifter rear outer (long) - wtf? Not quite enough outer to do full run brakes so I'll use them on my roadie at some point, where I don't need full run.

What's the general consensus on a pair of carbon clinchers from Ali express? Who has experience with a good seller?
-

If you look back a few pages some sellers have been mentioned

I can do that at work, for example I'm off for 2 weeks atm but I processed all my customer orders before I went. Some POs will be due in whilst I'm off so I'll book a collection for x date in the future and it creates a consignment and tracking number. But we use 3 different couriers so when it comes to the order being actually picked and packaged in the warehouse (Glasgow) and the courier's truck is full it will go on the next and get a different tracking number as it's scanned on. The old tracking number will show as "Unallocated".
Nope, black "Soigneur" jersey, red Genesis, carradice on the back - very aero.
