I was really happy with finding the kcnc krankset for so cheap, so i splurged on the chainring and got the wolftooth.
X0 9speed mech can also only take 34t max cassette, so being able to run a 28t chainring on the smaller 94bcd was key in order to get enough spinny for climbing.
Well the chainring is killer. Been out the past two days enjoying the bike and trails. I actually had 1 dropped chain after a steep and fast descent on a very rough rooty section, but im thinking its because of it being a 9speed chain nd therefore wider. wolftooth actually reccomends using a 10speed chain with a 9speed setup for better hold. Could also be the fact that its a tiny chainring, making for less chain wrap. Just a guess
