The figures on Freeroute seem more sensible (although i've not cross-checked and my Garmin didn't record every bit - when it wasn't working or I forgot to switch it on!)

Looks like it's sailing.

Not really looked at http://www.frrt.org/tcrno4/
I think I loaded it once during the race but it never seemed to update so I stopped looking at it.
Track / Route: 3562 / 3974 km
What's the difference?

They're bouncing!

Min's dot is bouncing. The TCR is over. Well done everyone who competed.

A little sad it's all over but I'm enjoying all the write-ups and stories, inspirational stuff all round.

• #4484
This has been utterly awe inspiring.

Gawd I need to continue writing mine.

Started mine last night. I've only got to CP1...

I think track is what it measures by straight line from point to point and route is what it thinks you will have done based on where the roads are that you would have been likely to have used between the points.
I don't know whether it includes dirt tracks in its assesment of likely route... -

thanks should go to Hammersmith Council for buying my ultra bike.
Crash compensation?
-
• #4489
I sued them for almost killing me, yeah.
-
• #4490
Maybe Ealing council will give me a new light. One of mine, which had managed to get to Turkey with no issues, got shaken to bits on the Uxbridge Road going through Acton.
-
• #4491
It's a ball ache and took a year but if you can prove that they were not following proper maintenance procedures then you can take them to court. Solicitors would almost certainly not bother for the cost of a light though.

Here's the first part of my write-up:

"I decided to try to fix it properly and had a go at inserting an anchovy into the tyre."
anchovy ?
-
• #4494
Oh yeah, I remember seeing you and some other riders heading into Claremont. I forgot about that!
-
• #4495
anchovy ?
Tubeless repair kit.
It's a bit of rubber that you stab into the tyre with a metal fork. Stay tuned for the next instalment and find out if they work...! -
• #4496
Work well on motorbike tyres, never tried on a bicycle. Advantage over an internal patch being that you don't have to remove the tyre I suppose?
-
• #4497
Yes, removing the tyre and patching inside would have been an easy fix if I'd been at home. But it's not an option without having a track pump or CO2. On the offset drilled rims, such as I had, you also need new rim tape to reinflate.

Wow, you're really selling riding tubeless very well ;)
Nice write-up!

Part 2
cyclingthere.wordpress.com/2016/08/27/transcontinental-race-2016-part-2/Great read but one small thing, you've written...
the vineyards of Bordeaux had given way to cows, with bells.
I assume you mean Burgundy (especially as you've written it in the section title).
OMG this!
Although thanks should go to Hammersmith Council for buying my ultra bike.
