  • No, but if you want someone to go through lots of pain testing one for you...

  • I think yer arse has had enough punishment recently!

  • Yeah and I've just bought three new saddles to test.

Plus the Sitero which I've just started using and a Dash Tri.7 which I've still not tried.

  • Three saddles? I know people say you're fat, but...

  • Front hub, 20h, straight pull spokes, not too much £. Does such a thing exist?

  • Hi, Ive just foiled a bike robbery outside my house on a bike cage - 4 dudes with a angle grinder- I've called the police, but the lock is 90% cut through, and I don't know who any of the bike owners are. Do you think the thieves will come back to finish the job? Anyone think of anything I could do to stop the bikes being stolen tonight. Bearing in mind its right outside my front door, and I don't want to attract undue attention from people who steal bikes...
    Cheers

  • Fair comment...
They've since been back and got all the way through the lock. Did not confront this time. my neighbour did. I've stuck a load of wheelie bins and scaffolding in front. Seemed like a good idea at the time.

  • That's a wheel not a hub, and has J-bend rather than straight pull spokes, but other than that it's perfect.

  • Sorry, I should definitely have finished reading before I got all excited...

  • No problem, it's the thought that counts!

  • Why have my clothes recently come out of the washing machine smelling significantly funkier then when they went in?

Machine was in the flat when I bought it three years ago but this only seems to have happened over the last month or so. It's a relatively contemporary looking Hoover. Tried the manual's recommendation of putting it through with detergent but no clothes at 90C, and also some special washing machine cleaning stuff to no avail.

I've always used non-bio capsules because environment. Unless there are other suggestions, weapons-grade Persil may have to be deployed.

RS10 (what he wrote) is straight pull but 16H, RS010 (what he linked to) is 20H but J-bend :-)

It seems unduly hard to get the Novatec AS511SB without having to buy the matching rear, but this Czech shop lists the front only for ~£45

Would you like to explain this

  • Check pipes for blockage. Funky smell often signifies standing water from poor drainage.. recommend a spin cycle and not over filling.

  • Have you checked the outlet pipe to ensure it is still full-bore freeflowing,
    with no blockages?
Have you checked the user serviceable drain off point near the filter which is designed o collect forgotten coins left in pockets?
Could try clothes-free 40C wash with litre of cheap (5%) Poundshop bleach and some washing soda.

  • Something about enzymes getting into rivers?

  • Having actually googled the difference it seems I was completely unaware of the difference between the two. Enzymes, how do they work?

Filter is definitely clear having recently removed all the crap. Whether it's draining properly I'm not so sure about but there's no sign of it not emptying. Will consider the other suggestions, thanks.

  • Eutrophication

  • Erm, I think I might have gone mad... just removed the front wheel from my road bike, the spring on the right (lever side) is missing, no?

Also, the back wheel just wouldn't sit in the middle, when turning it, it's shaking like a leaf. It's is tightened and the wheel seems straight enough. Any idea?

This is a road bike I haven't riden for months...

  • Eutrophication

A problem which seems to be caused by phosphorus compounds in laundry detergent, not enzymes

  • are they worth the price?

Do you want to pay that much of a premium for the look? I can think of several alternative makers who can do 7075T6 chainrings which are circular on the roller PCD and concentric with the bolt PCD for considerably less, and for my money their simpler designs are prettier too.

Yes. They do sometimes get lost, it has no effect on the wheel retaining function of the QR but it does make fast changes more tricky. Given that lawyer lips have completely ruled out fast changes and ruined cycling for everybody, this is not much of a problem.

You might have to do a better job of describing you rear wheel issue if you want an internet diagnosis.
