Hey guys
I have a Cannondale Sr800 criterium 3.0 series and I am wanting to fit riser bars on it.
It has down tube shifters so I just need to get bars and brake levers to make the conversion (will just keep the down tube shifters).
I have purchased a quill stem adapter. Now looking for a set of bars and brake levers.
Do you think some cut MTB bars would be OK?
What are your recommendations on brake levers for a roadie flatbar conversion? -

No reason MTB bars won't be fine. Or there are all manner of town bars available with varying degrees of sweep and rise. Some will fit quill stems too.
What brakes do you have? levers should match the cable pull ratio of the brakes

i see, currently on the drop bars:
shimano 600 ultegra levers -

So if the brakes themselves are also Ultegra 600 you won't be able to use current gen Shimano levers due to cable pull ratio differences. Well- you will be able to use them, and the will work, but braking performance would suffer somewhat
Maybe something like the Dia Compe BMX brake levers would suit
RE: down tube shifters- for a cheap-ish upgrade you can also get a thumb mount for the levers- so you can mount down tube shifters on the bar- though you'd also need new cables, making it less cheap ;-)
This will be an awesome bike BTW.

Awesome thanks for the help, will look at the dia compe BMX Brake levers, not a fan of the gold finger so will stay away from them.
Yeah i researched it a bit with the gear lever. I just got confused with my rear gear number and the type of shifter I need. Was just looking for a simple shifter. I have counted 7 gears on the rear.
Planning to run a single chain ring on the front.

Just to check, 9 speed tiagra will work with any 9sp shimano shifters road or mtb? and will work with 10 speed road but NOT 10 speed mtb?
have now got a cannondale that is begging for the enormous nukeproof risers I bought in a sale.
also on the lookout for some nice steel forks for said cannondale as it has old carbon ones that make me a bit nervous + thin steel forks look amazing
